During the important time of 7th and 8th grade, students participate in the Confirmation program. Confirmation classes are for students as they enter 7th grade. It is a two-year course curriculum that is taught by lay persons and the pastoral staff. It is divided into 4 core components: Study, Worship, Service, and Fellowship. Confirmands receive instruction in the sacraments, the Apostles’ Creed, the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, how to read and understand the Bible and the various aspects of worship. They learn and talk about how to relate all that they learn to their lives.
Each of the Confirmands is paired with an adult mentor from the Congregation, and once a month there is a fellowship/learning event for both. This event is usually held at the Church on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 12Noon.
The Confirmands also participate in a weekend winter retreat with some of the Church staff. This weekend is a time of fun, learning and faith building at one of the Lutheran outdoor camps.
Meetings: Confirmation Classes are Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:45 a.m. in room 116.
