With a commitment to “welcoming the stranger,” this team supports activities in the areas of evangelism, new member assimilation, communications, and public relations, in order to create fellowship that is warm and welcoming to all. The functions and duties of the Welcome Team consist of the following:
a. Encourage the congregation to have a greater concern for evangelism.
b. Work with the Director of Gift-Based Ministries to plan and implement a TLC (Tender Loving Care) program for new members, which may include, but not be limited to: new member visitation, Inquirers’ Classes, sponsors, church tours, and participation in church activities.
c. Plan and implement a program of making Holy Trinity known throughout the community, which may include, but not be limited to: website, brochures, newspaper and radio ads, posters in relevant institutions, and mailings.
d. Track weekly worship attendance of members and visitors.
e. Recruit and instruct lay visitors from the congregation, and conduct lay visitation.
f. Obtain greeters for worship services.
g. Coordinate its work with the evangelism efforts of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Greeters

Greeters are adults and families who welcome members and visitors to worship services. They also provide Church and worship information to visitors. Greeters are called to serve on a rotating basis, typically serving two consecutive Sundays.

Trained volunteers make initial contact with first-time visitors. They provide them with information about the Church and its programs and activities.
Busy Bags
Busy Bags are available for children to use during worship services. The bags contain coloring materials, games and puzzles based on the weekly lectionary.
Sponsors of New Members

Sponsors are members of Holy Trinity who shepherd new members into the life of the congregation. They provide a warm welcome to prospective members, introduce them to activities of the church, and then continue to stay in contact with the new members throughout the year.
Ad Designers – Newspaper Advertisements

Volunteers are responsible for designing and placing ads in local newspapers to promote special programs and services presented by Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Print Publicity

Volunteers are responsible for reviewing and updating miscellaneous brochures and pamphlets produced and distributed by the Church. Volunteers also create new brochures and pamphlets as needed.
Worldwide Ministry Task Force

The Worldwide Ministry Task Force is a group of Church members who oversee the operation of the Church website. In addition to gathering the data required to keep the website information current, the Task Force analyzes and recommends equipment and procedures to expand the website’s audio and video content.
